The Front Page

Five Knobs. One Current.

Echorium's macro page distills the whole engine into five worlds. Each knob blends an entire module — grab one and the sound moves. Flip to EDIT and every one of the 76 parameters underneath is waiting, perfectly in sync: nothing ever jumps when you switch views.

Age

Blends in warm drive, compression and lo-fi degradation — years of wear on one knob.

Space

Pours in convolution reverb and spatial depth, from a whisper to a flooded cathedral.

Time

Controls the tape delay blend — the beating heart of the machine.

Movement

Adds chorus, flanger or phaser motion and stereo width to the whole picture.

Mix

Global dry/wet for everything at once — parallel processing built in.

Echorium X/Y cursor gliding across the animated aquarium pad
The X/Y Pad

A Pad That's Alive

The heart of the front page is a living aquarium — fish drift by, bubbles rise, a radar pulse sweeps the deep. Drag the cursor and you're playing the machine: X bends the tape speed (0.5× to 2×, true varispeed pitch), Y pushes the feedback from a single slap to the edge of beautiful self-oscillation.

It's dub-siren echo throws, tape stops, and runaway swells — performed with one finger, fully automatable in your DAW.

Echorium ANI mode — tempo-locked cursor animation patterns
ANI Mode

Set It Adrift

Flip from FREE to ANI and the cursor plays itself. Twelve motion patterns orbit wherever you drop the cursor, phase-locked to your host tempo from 1/4 note to 8 bars, with a DEPTH control for how far they travel. Engaging it never clicks — the motion fades in over milliseconds.

Wow that breathes with the bar. Feedback that dives and releases on the downbeat. Chaos that sounds broken but repeats perfectly every loop.

CircleThe classic — speed and feedback swell 90° apart.
Fig-8Feedback at double rate, so it wanders rather than repeats.
SwingPure tape-speed sway — feedback stays where you put it.
DiveFeedback builds across the cycle, then releases and resets.
StepsEight held positions — rhythmic, not smooth.
DriftThe same steps slewed soft, wobbling like worn tape.
L / Rev LAn eased L-shape traced out and retraced.
SquareAll four edges of the pad, closing without retracing.
SpiralThree turns winding out from centre and back again.
BounceFeedback drops and rebounds four times while speed drifts.
ChaosA modulated Lissajous — scrambled to the ear, locked to the bar.
Rate & Depth1/4 to 8 bars, 0–100% travel — every pattern, your tempo.

Every echo sinks. Every repeat blooms.
Welcome to the studio under the surface.

Echorium tape delay page — wow, flutter, dropout, hiss, pitch-shift regen
Engine 01 — Tape Dly

Real Tape. Really Modeled.

This isn't a digital delay with a "vintage" filter on top. Echorium models the physics of a running tape loop: saturation that compounds with every pass so repeats bloom and squash as they regenerate, head-gap losses that make echoes warm instead of thin, and the Space Echo law where slower tape means darker repeats.

  • Wow & flutter — multi-oscillator pitch drift, independent per channel, for genuine analog seasickness.
  • Dropout & hiss — real sampled tape hiss fed through the loop, and dropouts that dull as they dip, just like oxide shedding.
  • True reverse delay — echoes stay reversed as they decay, aligned to your DAW's grid.
  • Pitch-shift regeneration — a shifted voice (±5, ±7, ±12 semitones) as a stable ghost or an infinite shimmer cascade climbing per repeat.
  • Musical self-oscillation — push feedback to 99% and ride the swell; a governor only steps in if the loop truly runs away.
  • Sync or free — 1/16 to 1/1 with triplets, or 10–2000 ms, with stereo L-R drift.
Echorium Space page — convolution reverb with live IR waveform display
Engine 02 — Space

28 Spaces To Drown In

The Space engine is true convolution — real impulse responses captured at 96 kHz and swapped glitch-free while audio runs, with a live waveform display showing exactly where your decay lands.

  • 16 Springs — amp tanks, dub tanks, pipe springs, radio and lo-fi springs. The drippy, twangy soul of echo.
  • 6 Plates — mono and stereo studio plates from vintage steel to clean digital.
  • 6 Halls — short, bright, mono and full stereo halls for real depth.
  • Full shaping — decay 0.1–8 s, pre-delay up to 500 ms, low/high cut, and wet level up to 200% for total submersion.
  • Open format — the IR library lives in your user folder; drop in your own WAVs and make it yours.
Echorium Mod page — chorus, flanger and phaser
Engine 03 — Mod

Chorus. Flanger. Phaser.

Three modulation engines share one page, each remembering its own settings — and a PRE/POST switch that changes everything: modulate into the tape loop so every repeat decorrelates and blooms apart, or modulate the whole wet wash for that classic ensemble shimmer.

  • 6-voice ensemble chorus — six detuned voices on non-harmonic ratios that never re-align. Lush, wide, endless.
  • Tempo-synced flanger — rate, depth and resonance, free-running or locked from 1/8 to 8 bars.
  • Deep phaser — 2 to 12 selectable all-pass stages with smooth, tempo-synced sweeps, from subtle swirl to thick resonant motion.
Echorium Comp page — soft-knee compressor with warm drive and gain reduction meter
Engine 04 — Comp

Glue From The Glow

The Comp engine is warmth and dynamics in one move: a soft-knee compressor that stays musical at sane settings and turns into pumping character at the extremes, paired with an even-harmonic drive that thickens without ever getting dirty.

  • Soft-knee compression — 1:1 to 20:1 with full attack/release control and a live gain-reduction meter.
  • Tube-style warmth — drive with a 2nd-harmonic-dominant signature, the sound of tape and valves, not fuzz.
  • Auto makeup — RMS-matched so your level holds steady while the character changes.
  • Stereo-linked detection — the image never shifts, no matter how hard you push.
Echorium EQ page — 4-band interactive EQ with draggable curve
Engine 05 — EQ

Shape The Wet

A 4-band EQ with a fully interactive curve — grab a handle and drag. Low and high shelves plus two parametric peaks with variable Q, all ±12 dB, sitting at the end of the chain to place your echoes exactly where the mix needs them.

Fifteen starting points get you there in one click: OLD TAPE, RADIO, TELEPHONE, LO-FI, WARM, AIR, PRESENCE, VOCAL and more.

Edit Mode

One Window. Two Depths.

Stay shallow on the macro page, or dive into EDIT — five colour-coded module tabs, each with its own bypass, tooltips on every control, and a BPM readout that never leaves you. Undo/redo, A/B compare, and a resizable interface from 50% to 200%.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which DAWs are supported?

Echorium works with all major DAWs that host VST3, AU or AAX plugins — Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Pro Tools, Reaper, Bitwig and more.

What plugin formats are included?

VST3 and AAX on Windows; VST3, AU and AAX on macOS. macOS builds are Universal — native on both Intel and Apple Silicon.

Does it sync to my project tempo?

Yes — the delay, flanger, phaser and all 12 X/Y animation patterns lock to your host tempo, and a BPM readout is visible on every page. Everything can also run free when you want it loose.

Can I use my own impulse responses?

Yes. The IR library lives in an open folder on your drive — drop in your own WAV impulse responses alongside the 28 factory spaces. Presets work the same way: your user banks are plain files you can back up and share.

Is this a subscription?

No. Echorium is a one-time purchase with a lifetime license and free updates. No extra fees, ever.

How does licensing work?

After purchase you'll receive a license key instantly. Activation takes a moment inside the plugin — an internet connection is required for the one-time authorization.
